Teague Alexy's Book Now Available!

The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers & Thinkers is a collection of seven stories written by musician Teague Alexy and beautifully illustrated by artists from across the country: The Wisdom of King Joe Colli, Old Lady Truth, The New Tune of Elijah Swoon, Three Little Fish, How Lefty Stepanovich Turned Water Into Wine, Teufelo's Tongue and Old Rickety Bridge. Alexy's modern folktales are told in the tradition of being nonsensical on the surface with strong underlying truths. Filled with humor, lively characters, clever rhyme schemes and wordplay, The New Folklore provides entertainment and deep insight for young and old. For information on musical versions of these stories performed by Teague Alexy & The Feelin Band (featuring Nicholas David) and information on Teague's band Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank stay tuned to teaguealexy.com.

“Teague's penchant for storytelling and turning phrases in his music shines through in The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers & Thinkers,” says Curtis Weinrich of publisher North Star Press.  “The stories are delightful and entertaining for all ages, and, like all good folklore, hold a wealth of wisdom hidden just below the shiny surface.  The illustrations are a feast for the eyes and the music for the ears, but the stories are clearly intended for the heart and soul.”

'Old Number Four' Makes National Sports Headlines

Less than 24 hours after the April 21 release of new Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank album American Shuffle, the national sports media began providing extensive coverage of the song Old Number Four. Though not mentioned by name, the song is an homage to retired NFL legend Brett Favre.

CBSSports.com broke the story on Wednesday, April 22 - one day after the release of American Shuffle. Within 24 hours Old Number Four had over 20,000 YouTube hits as coverage quickly spread to local, regional and national news outlets including ESPN, NBC, FOX, Star Tribune, Green Bay Press Gazette, Duluth News Tribune and The Jim Rome Show.

"Brett Favre has his own theme song.  Old Number Four does a pretty good job of summing up Favre's Ol Gunslinger mentality." - CBSSports.com

"Feeling the highs of Brett Favre's magic and the depths of his lows" - Star Tribune / Video

"Favre's passion for the game inspired the song" - Ian Alexy on NBC 26 Green Bay

"A beautiful ode to the gunslinger.  Both haunting and affectionate, Old Number Four pays homage to the former Green Bay Packers quarterback with Americana harmonica, harmonies and lyrics that capture a hero nearing the end of his run." - Green Bay Press Gazette

"Brett Favre apparently has an anthem.  A folk song about the folk hero." - Jim Rome

THIS AMERICAN SHUFFLE

'THIS AMERICAN SHUFFLE'

a short film by Joshua Priestley

Our new record American Shuffle will be officially released tomorrow. Today, we are releasing this short documentary filmed last fall on our East Coast tour. Most of the footage was shot in New York City and Vermont. The rural footage was shot on a pumpkin farm just outside of Richmond Vermont. Thank you to the farmer Ralph that let us use his land! The onstage footage is from our show at The Monkey House in Winooski Vermont. The film features songs from the new record! Thank you Joshua Priestley and crew for creating "This American Shuffle!" Enjoy everybody... ‪#‎HoboNephews‬ ‪#‎AmericanShuffle‬
